James Dyson, studied architecture and found himself applying his knowledge to problem solving. He developed a flat hulled landing craft and a ball barrow, a wheelbarrow with a ball instead of a wheel and wide feet to stop it getting stuck in soft ground. Then he saw cyclone technology being used in a saw mill to collect the saw dust and decided to apply this to a vacuum cleaner. Unable to get interest from any of the major companies he took his idea to Japan where his ideas were developed into the G-force vacuum cleaner. This allowed Dyson to begin developing a new vacuum cleaner under his own name and Dyson was formed.
